Handcrafted modern urban beauty of an apartment with playful touch in central Bratislava, Slovakia. The original building’s charm from the 1960ts was preserved, including the direct access to the surrounding gardens, while transforming the space into a flexible fluid home that answers to modern lifestyle dynamic’s needs. Simplistic modern finishing and clear lines are enriched by vibrant colors, contrasts, and custom created fittings and additions.
Ditta Atelier handcrafted a lot of the furniture fitting, including the neat and tidy wardrobes that clad the apartment’s hallway. The heart of the apartment arrangement is its kitchen with the freestanding kitchen island and characteristic color choices of the décor. Behind a custom made bookshelf (doubling as a space divider), a cozy and retro-inspired sitting zone resides.
Multiple thoughtful décor touches and attention towards details compose a modern urban space with character and a playful soul. Different colors for different segments of floors and walls, whimsical solutions like folding chairs hanging on walls, unusual working space, double playful balls for door handles, black and white bathroom alternation(n not only in the trendy terrazzo cladding but the overall color composition) create a space full of character, attention, and artistry.
The eclectic nature of the interir project is visible in the way retro touches coexist with modern ideas and flexibility. The architects paid special attention to some of the space’s original features – for example, the playful integration of absolute old features like the usage of an old telephone cable as an artistic wall decoration – the arrow in the hallway.
