What will you do if you have a heritage beauty of a home situated amongst a rich natural environment, but you are a lover of contemporary art and esthetics? Well, probably something much like this luminous and organic beauty created by mode:lina architekci and situated in the heart of Pszczewski landscape park, Poland. The design aimed to be a peaceful refuge of the busy city life with an enhanced sense of artistry and functional modern design. All design solutions and materials draw direct inspiration from the overpowering proximity of nature.
Plywood frames and customized cladding (double-functioning as tidy storage units) create an authentic organic feel for the overall design. Still, the true star of the design project becomes the colorful graffiti and tile art pieces -used both as functional flooring or decoration. The artful graphic patterns of the tile compositions throughout the dacha project deserve special attention and introduce playful and artistic touch to the overall modern and clear-lined design idea. In the main social area- the living room zone is connected through a large panoramic with the lushness of the surrounding nature. Here a single block of black smoothness stands in the middle of the space- a fireplace used as a monolith sculpture and space divider. Its robust shape is vitalized by the ceramic tile patterns that give unexpected artistry to the fireplace’s practicality.
The living zone is connected through an entrance passage with the more private zones of the forest house – the simplistic, modern purity of the bedrooms. In the blond-wood-clad entrance, an artistic floor pattern of cheerful tiles gives a welcoming vibe, refreshing hello to each one that entrances the forest sanctuary.
In the next space – the kitchen and dining area- warmer nuances of the floor tiles composition give a yellow vitality to the gray surface of the polished concrete monolith kitchen island unit. Throughout the home’s design, paintings, pieces of art, and decorative elements further complement the modern artistry and graphic patterns of the tilling project, composing the spine of the design vision of the space. The entwinement of this clever design trinity; organic wood influence, artistic patterns and simplistic black lines/ bout as furniture pieces, lighting installations, and frames for window and spatial movement) – create a unique refuge space with modern and artistic character.
