Contemporary purity and simplicity, hidden behind sleek surfaces, black frames, straight lines, and precious materials. Using the signature for the designer’s affection toward beautiful, luxurious materials ( extensive wood and metal claddings, jazzy sparkle of brass and copper details, and the elegant purity of modern line furniture and art) the Raul Sanchez Architects carried on the extensive reformation of this spacious apartment in Barcelona.
Located in the iconic architectural blocs and intersections of Aribau and Roselló streets, in central Barcelona, the apartment’s layout offers dynamic angles and intriguing shapes to inhabit. The architects used large oak structures to create dynamic juxtaposition between light (almost luminous) color palette, robust, black lines, and soft natural insertions. Those custom made space divisions and wall cladding – hidden sliding doors, storage units, and spatial division tricks typical for flexible modern design compositions. Freeing space and keeping the design idea pure and tidy, the clever modern composition offers multiple picturesque design angles and accents.
Another customized design detail – the brass and brushed copper doors, door-handles, and reflecting surfaces entwine and match very well the luxurious purity of the wooden and marble structures and furniture elements, creating a balance between luxurious sparkle and matte, wooden depth.
Large parts of the apartment’s layout are left almost empty ( fallowing the modernistic minimalism inspiration) using only a singular and playful decor accents – a shining marble terrazzo kitchen island, a modern-classic furniture piece or even a play-ground swing. Airy luminosity comes from the long white gauze curtains covering the arch of the large facade windows, and this design touch goes very well with the purity of the privet bedroom areas.
The bathrooms have a more in-depth scene arrangement – a juxtaposition between soft, warm peach color and straight black metal lines. The precious emanation of the trendy black, marble zing-tub adds to this visual dramatism composing the modern bathroom premise decor.
The open space flow between kitchen and living room areas fallows the long rectangular with an arch at the window wall hidden behind the historic facade – configuration of the apartment’s layout. The beauty of modern elegance and visual simplicity is high-lined by smooth color palette and precious materials compositions – a signature inspiration of the designers – giving an artistic character to this stylish decor projects.
