Luminous simplicity, clear lines, extensive blond wood structures and elegant entwinement between modern and classy – this is the dreamy & light small studio apartment design by James Garvan Architecture Studios.
Benefiting from the endless sea horizon, the reconstructed apartment is located in the small resort town of Clovelly, Australia. A beautiful example of modern minimalism and elegant stylistic the home of the architect has a strong connection not only to the surrounding landscape but its interior forms expressive bonds with the light. Multiple windows illuminate the light textural palette and reflect from the delicate beige skin of the wooden surfaces and decor elements.
The kitchen, dining, and living room open floor arrangement is a good example of that dialog between sunlight and light wood, mediated through simple lines and minimalist decor configurations. The walls are covered with wooden cabinet doors keeping everything tidy and hidden behind organic surfaces. White metal beams cross the ceilings and give modern dynamics to the otherwise classy lightness of the place. Custom made shelves with space dividing functions host the minimal decorative elements of the design configuration. Brass and rattan details, woven rugs, and linen curtains form a summery dialog with the sunlight and the panoramic view of the sea.
The bathroom is a magnificent example of modern trends and contemporary elegance – here, white metro tiles are combined with trendy brass accents and warm wood additions – very stylish and pure configuration for a bathroom premise. The whole apartment’s decor is unpretentious but still elegant and classy, and thanks to the influence of modern minimalism, this stylish project is striped to its pure and comfortable functions. Luminous lightness indeed. Built by Hancock Homes; Photos by Kat Lu;
