Hella Jongerious applies her research on colors, materials and textures in new tile collection for Mutina. Presented at this year’s Salone del Mobile, Diarama comprises various glazed hues applied on seven different matt, colored clay bases.
Diarama is a study of a wide range of chromatic shades which are layered over colored clay tiles – about pure color, applied on a different ceramic basis like a second skin.
Different colored clay bodies form the base and glazes with varying intensities are layered on top to create several new hues so that the surface doesn’t look simply colored, but mixed like in an oil painting.
