Renovating a desperately run-down apartment in Budapest, Hungary the designers from Gasparbonta had aimed for a luminous open space that connects not only the premises and its inhabitants in free float family space but also the integration of the worthy old features of the apartment with a new modern read on them.
Entwining contemporary industrial accents like the concrete walls, the black frame metal constructs and the exposed brick walls with light, bright and modern furniture selection and finishing’s the designers composed an absolute contemporary jewel with classy features.
Clear lines, open space, noble material palette, stylish accents and minimalist furniture arrangement characterize the design of the apartment. The kitchen, dining and living room premises are arranged in open floor plan that combines the rustic note of the two type brick walls – one painted white, to add to the luminous expression of the design, and the other introducing its natural red warmth into the composition – with a magnificent urban industrial accent.
Custom made black metal structure shelving becomes a focal point for the place giving a symbolic division of functional spaces and introducing dynamic and youthful spirit to the design composition. The long kitchen island composed of the trendy Polywood material is featuring an ingenious, contrast illumination scheme that adds a high visual accent. Stylish black walls and naked Edison bulbs lamp complete this jazzy and urban setting. Photography by Bálint Jaksa
