Remaining true to their spirit of research regarding color, the Dutch studio Raw Color presents its first collaboration with nanimarquina. Blend plays with the visual perception of colors. Solid surfaces interact with surfaces that are constructed from lines. These duo toned lines merge into the viewer’s eye to create new colors. Due to this graphic system, a multitude of subtle shades is rendered departing from 5 different yarns.
Blend applies the basic rules of color theory, with three available models in which hue, luminosity, and saturation vary. A slim, handwoven Kilim, this original rug from Pakistan will delight those passionate about color. Raw Color accompanies nanimarquina discovering current and contemporary color territories.
“We searched for a comprehensive approach to the design process. Finding the essence, transforming the concept into a simple, communicative and tactile solution is our goal in every project. The results can be considered as ‘Soft Systems,’ an important element in our work. These systems are defined by the rules but offer enough freedom to keep them dynamic,” comments designers Raw Color (Daniera ter Haar and Christoph Brach).
