Functionality and simplicity is the description that the architects Bar Orian give to their project of a contemporary home located in one of Tel Aviv’s neighborhoods. The modern expression of the clear-lined architectural facade of this family home consists of a basic geometric structure, a combination of two raw-concrete boxes on top of each other; adorned with dynamic and characteristic Corten-finish shading system. The interior decor also corresponds with that stylistic and it’s sober, elegant and dynamic.
The main living premises feature an open plan living zone and kitchen assembly that gives a lovely focal accent with its classic combination of exposed brick wall separation, oak cabinets and a stainless-steel cooking island – a beautiful escalation of materials and textures. The living room with its fresh color combinations, textures and shapes gives a nice calm addition to that interior. We especially appreciate the sea blue of the carpet juxtaposed to the soft white of the sofa and robust, metal black of the coffee table. Polished concrete floors go throughout the premises interconnecting the decor.
Custom made a metal library and a black hardware workplace are delicately separated at the end of the living premises – giving private, functional and tranquil zone for working. The bedrooms have delicate features and combinations of materials and colors that make them welcoming and cozy. Here the wood and the light colors dominate the decor assembly. Thanks to its clever architectural orientation towards the natural elements: light, breeze and gardens, and the characteristic shading system, the house lives dynamic life throughout the hours of the day. Modern and functional, with clear-lined and elegant interior, this home is yet another example of modern Israeli architecture. Photography by Amit Geron
