The new lever handle Saturn by Manital, designed by Mario Mazzer and Giovanni Crosera, is now officially listed among the very best of International design: it has just obtained the “GOOD DESIGN 2015” award in the “Hardware” category.
Founded in Chicago in 1950 by architects Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., “GOOD DESIGN” bestows international recognition upon the world’s most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing new, visionary, and innovative product concepts, invention and originality, and for stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design. Manital is proud of this new recognition, in particular because Saturn is a new handle concept.
This lever handle is immediately distinguishable from other models for the important measures of its rose: 180 mm wide and 152 mm high. Moreover, the rose is composed of two discs, one external, with a small semicircle extension to which the handle is applied, and one internal, having a diameter of 103 mm, that qualifies and makes the rose unique. The internal disk, available in various finishes and coatings, can also be customized through laser engraving of a phrase, a logo or a brand. Saturn is, therefore, a characterizing feature of the door and does perfectly suit both residential and commercial projects.
The internal disk of the rose can be easily replaced and purchased individually, thus becoming an element that can be renewed in time. Today the company offers the system in the following variants: external disc and handle in the finishes Crome, Satin Crome and Anthracite; internal disc in the finishes Crome, Satin Crome, Satin Copper, leather coated or engraved on request.
