Bonaldo launched this year several products with a retro chic style. Lacquered surfaces, sinuous silhouettes, geometric shapes and warm shades, capable of recreating old-world atmospheres in a contemporary context. Furnishings and interior decor items recall in an elegant fashion the sophisticated ambiance of Mad Men, a US cult TV series, which pays homage to the timeless style of 1960-s interior design.
Monforte and Tie coffee tables
Designed by Mauro Lipparini, these two coffee tables represent the true essence of retro-style furnishings presented at the latest edition of the Salone del Mobile. The discrete design of the Monforte coffee table is based on the balance between shape and material, an evergreen accessory that teams elegance with simplicity. The solid American walnut-wood legs contrast with the linear table tops, made of ceramic – anthracite grey or white – or acid-treated black or white, or metal – brass, copper or stripped effect.
The distinguishing feature of the Tie coffee table lies in the bent sheet metal feet, which are slim and slender just like a tie, hence the name of this family of tables. The base of Tie – which is made of painted metal (white, anthracite grey, dove-grey or amaranth) or brass, copper or stripped effect – contrasts with the different textured materials of the table tops. Tie is available in the version with a round table top – lacquered (caramel, peacock blue, khaki, marsala, cadet blue, mallow), in bio-mortar (pale grey or dark grey) – or with a hexagonal table top in heat-treated oak-wood, bio-mortar or marble (Calacatta, Carrara, Marquinia or Emperador).
Sheryl chair
Living every day like a fairy-tale come true: this is the spirit of the Sheryl chair, which bestows an enchanted atmosphere onto any setting and which, thanks to its sinuous and light-weight shapes, is also suitable for use in the bedroom. The continuity between the backrest and the rear leg, comprising a soft slightly curved line, creates an harmonious whole to which the chair adds depth. Sheryl has a solid wood frame and it is upholstered entirely with fabric, leather or eco-leather covers. It stands out for its ornamental border, contrasting or in matching colour.
Medley table
Medley, the first project designed for Bonaldo by the young designer Alessandro Busana, is a modern and elegant table, characterised boldly by a merger of styles, geometric shapes and materials that create a new dialogue between styling balance and original appeal.
The legs, which are available in American walnut-wood or in natural brushed or grey ash-wood, follow a silhouette consisting of lines and connections: indeed, they are connected by a central longitudinal element that facilitates the volumetric perception of the table. The outline of the table top stems from the merger of two geometric shapes, namely the rectangle and the oval, giving rise to a new and original shape. Deliberately in contrast with the solid wood legs, the table top is available in marble (Calacatta, Carrara, Marquinia or Emperador), in glass (acid-treated black or white) or lacquered white wood.
Cuff bed
The strong personality of the Cuff bed designed by Mauro Lipparini lies in the tailoring details: from the frog fastenings that adorn the two flaps which cover the padded headboard, to the pleating that marks the vertical pattern of the back panel cover. The upholstery of the Cuff bed can come with leather or fabric covers, with visible leather inserts both on the headboard and on the bed surround, while the feet are made of painted metal, in a host of different colours: white, anthracite grey, dove-grey, amaranth, black or silver. Cuff is also available in the storage version.
