Simplified luxury is not an oxymoron in the case of this Beverly Hills situated house project. The creation of Dennis Gibbens Architects preserves and upgrade the repeated motifs of curved and circular elements characteristic for the original layout of the property, developing the project with high-quality materials and contemporary artistry. The dynamic entwining between the inviting exterior – with its attractive leisure time premises, pools, relaxing corners and beautiful views towards the surrounding hills – and the complex spatial flow of the interior with its riches of materials and refined details is accomplished though abundance of glass walls, separations and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow easy, uninterrupted flow between spaces.
The timeless and elegant interior design of the house serves, at one side as a wonderful exhibiting canvas for the owners growing collection of modern and contemporary photography and from the other side as a luxurious, full with light and spaciousness refuge with contemporary character. The intriguing shapes (as architectural structures and modern furnishing and decorations – alike) and complicated spatial and furnishing solutions are juxtaposed to the simplicity of color solutions and the abundance of light. Even the austere facade at night floats in the warm glow provided by concealed up-lighting and ensures the warm welcoming into the property.
The modern, complicated and artistic furnishing solutions in the living premises are replaced with warm wooden functionality in the kitchen and simply, comfortable lines in the bedroom and resting areas – but everywhere the contemporary spirit, untypical solutions and luxury are present and dominating. This contemporary LA mansion exhibits a wonderful correlation between luxury and elegance, artistry and natural views and of course between clever designer’s solutions and preexisting conditions.
