Unconventional cubical and geometrical forms, futuristic materials and explicit transparency surrounded by Desert plants and cactuses – that is the first impression of this contemporary house situated in the emblematic Las Vegas designed by assemblageSTUDIO.
The borders between outside and inside are blurred – starting with the color base predominated inside and out of charcoal and various shades of beige sand, casually animated by deep blue and green. Continuing with the undisputed acknowledgment of the strong presents of Red Rock Mountains by clever play with levels and variety of textures in the architecture of the house, designers and architects succeed to create a space that reminiscent of the surrounding environment. The subtle fusion and ostentatious passage are so delicate that at times is difficult to determent if some of the premises are out or indoor. Mixing harsh materials like concrete, stone, metal with light and flexible constructs the house and its interior. It receive some unusual solutions like the mesh screen surrounding of the facade that creates not only much needed protection from the desert sun but also artful play of shadow reflections in the interior.
Or, not to pass, the unexpected and dramatic fireplace, with its flames coming out directly from the floor. Dark interior colors combined with sensible textures and colorful and attractive art pieces conduce to the glamor that is usually associated with Las Vegas.
