If golf is your thing, then living beside a golf course might be your dream. But if you simply dream of living in a beautiful house, this property, overlooking the San Lorenzo golf course in Quinta do Lago, Portugal, might seem like an apparition.
The house designed by de Blacam and Meagher Architects, is a simple set of cubic volumes that step down the slope of the site. The dominant external feature is a colonnade that edges a pool, that in turn edges a sunken garden, or at least a garden recessed into the topography. The internal rooms are generous and minimal, but it is the terrace, the views and the pool that are the heart and soul of this house.
