The Cloud Collection by Brazilian designer Humberto Damata is built around the weft technique whereby a set of lines are interwoven creating a new visual presence and tactile experience. The idea emerged from the very pattern of the fabric- how to rebuild a striped fabric in a new three-dimensional way? The same technique is used in many objects such as baskets and natural fibers but usually follows an orthogonal grid. The Cloud Collection instead interweaves on an irregular path, making a more interesting and unique pattern emphasized by the pinstripe print on the fabric.
