Create a Mini-spa in Your Own Home

A day spent at the spa is one of the more relaxing ways to while away your time, but the expense of it all means that it doesn’t happen anywhere near often enough. It would be nice to enjoy some spa treatment every week to help keep relaxed and this can be attainable. You wouldn’t have to fork out bucket loads of money to go to a spa each week if you install your own mini spa in the house.

This will help you unwind after a tough day at work and mean you’re cutting down on the expensive trips to the spa every month. There are a few little adjustments you need to make to the home to make it the relaxing haven that you’re after.

Creating a mini-spa doesn’t need to cost the earth

You can create your own little haven for a relatively little amount if you redesign your bathroom or think about installing this in a summer house. Creating a mini-spa is all about the styling and not the expense. So, you can buy most of your sanitary ware from DIY stores, as they stock a wide range of contemporary or period roll tops and not-so-standard basins. Flooring and heating products can also be purchased at most DIY stores also.

Your summer house doesn’t need to be huge, just big enough to get all of your essentials in. A bigger room will obviously have a greater air of luxury than a smaller one, but whatever size fits into the garden will certainly suffice. Waltons has a wide range of summer houses available to look at.

Ideas for the mini-spa

One of the must-haves of a mini-spa is clearly a sauna and this is where a summer house perfectly comes in. They provide the necessary space required and are far enough away from the home so it won’t affect the warmth of another room in the house. Installing the cabin should only take a couple of days and most of it can be done by yourself. Then an electrician and plumber can finish the necessary technical parts.

A tub might be a good way to go also, so as to give yourself a place to have a dip in peace. You don’t want to put too many things in as if you squeeze in a lot of stuff it can look crowded and I know if I was in a cluttered room it certainly won’t help me unwind exactly as I wanted to. So, you should be prepared to downsize the bath slightly if needs be or swap the bidet for extra storage to help give you a much sleeker finish.

What treatments can you have in your mini-spa?

You obviously won’t be able to enjoy absolutely everything that you can normally in a spa but that certainly doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time. As we suggested earlier you can have a sauna in your summer house and while you’re enjoying that you might want to wear a facial mask.

Using natural ingredients you can give yourself a deep conditioning. Indeed, all you’ll need is a jar of natural mayonnaise and half an avocado. Mash the avocado into the mayo and then work it into your hair. After 20 minutes rinse it out and see how soft your hair is afterwards!
